For nearly 20 years, the Dr. James Carlson Library has been the beating heart of Fargo’s south side, serving as a well-loved sanctuary for lifelong learning, a spark for local creativity, and an important center for community connection. .But our city is growing rapidly. When the Carlson Library was first built, it was designed to serve a community population of 108,000. Today, the population of Fargo has soared to over 141,000 residents. To ensure this community resource can keep pace with the city’s growth, we are launching a $100,000 capital campaign to renovate and modernize the Carlson branch, and every story needs a hero like you.
Campaign Goal: $100,000
The Friends of the Fargo Public Library is proud to kick off this campaign with a $25,000 leadership gift, the largest single contribution in our organization’s history. We believe deeply in the vital role this library plays in our daily lives, and we invite you to build upon this strong foundation we have set.Your support will fund crucial improvements, including:
New Flooring and Carpet: Creating a warm, clean, and inviting atmosphere.
Fresh Interior Paint: Revitalizing and brightening the space for a modern feel.
Expanded Shelving: Growing our collection to better meet patron interests.
Upgraded Service Desks: Enhancing functionality for faster service.
Dedicated Children’s Tech Desks: Providing safe and comfortable learning spaces for the library’s youngest tech explorers.
